CinEx is a software which claims to remove and protect against Cinavia error messages. It’s part of a range of softwares including CinEx HD, CinFect, CinDe and SoundTouch 2. The software claims to add, detect and output a working version of the movie.
You are limited to DVDs
While CinEx works with BluRays, DVDs (but only US NTSC versions) or pirated, downloaded versions – It can only output a DVD. This means you’re looking to get a major downgrade in quality even if your original version was either a high-quality, downloaded BluRay rip or a physical BluRay disc.
This might not be a deal breaker, but the DVD quality is a huge downgrade.
And you can’t keep any bonus material, such as movies or extras. This might not be a deal breaker, but the DVD quality is a huge downgrade.
How does it work?
CinEx works in two ways – Either they remove the error message using the CinEx HD utility tool. But it’s limited to a selection of movies. The list includes major titles such as John Wick 2, however – the software needs to be updated with new movies regularly. You are likely to find your title, but if you don’t you need to use the other software – SoundTouch 2. This software works a bit different, downgrading the audio. This means your movie won’t get the error message, but the audio is significantly worse. It might be worth the tradeoff.
Is it legal?
The short answer is no. It depends on country, but modifying your movies are often OK – As long as you own the movie. But most users of this software will use pirated, torrented movies – Wanting to remove the error because the movie isn’t officially available or is still being shown in the cinema. And as we know, pirated movies aren’t exactly legal. As for the software itself, Cinavia might not be too happy about it.
The problem with Cinex HD is its various tools and software. CinDe, Cinex HD, SoundTouch, SoundTouch 2 and CinFect. The softwares do different things, but it’s difficult to keep track of what does what.
Should you buy it?
We recommend NoErrors.info instead, as it’s less expensive and works on all movies, and aren’t restricted to a list of movies. It’s also less messy, as CinEx requires various software tools and are split into different solutions and software. But we’re impressed by their amazing support and are sure they will have a better solution in the future, which is more user friendly.
CinaviaFix isn’t affiliated with CinexHD or their software.
How do you fix the error message for these new movies?
Either you use the NoErrors.info fix, or you wait until they are officially release to retail. There are a number of new movies being effected by the error messages, and we got the latest batch below. All of these are set to get a 2017 release in the cinema.
Ghost in the Shell
The Gracefield Incident
Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets
The Dark Tower
The Emoji Movie
Goon 2: Last of The Enforces
Stephen King’s IT
Blade Runner 2049
My Little Pony: The Movie
Some of these movies are about to get a retail release, such as The Ghost In The Shell (based on the 1994 anime) and Wonder Woman. But upcoming films such as Blade Runner 2 as well as the Stephen King based movies The Dark Tower and IT are already set to include Cinavia since their distribution companies are known for using the service.
It’s a common question when it comes to downloading or streaming movies. My first thought is, the bigger the size, the better the quality is. But is it still true?
I guess all kind of things can happen when you transfer a movie from blu-ray to an hard disk. But, is there a way to say that one of theese are theoretically better than the others?
Wishmaster 1997 1080p BluRay x264-SADPANDA
Wishmaster 1997 1080p BluRay x264 DTS-FGT
Wishmaster Pack BluRay 1080p Dts HEVC-d3g
The first two has almost the same size, number three is smaller. Smaller means less hard disk use, but my first priority is quality.
It’s gets a bit complicated, but the only way you’re really going to know is to compare bit rates and encoding methods. File sizes only tell part of the story.
For example; you could have two 1080p encodes with identical bit rates but different audio tracks (one 2 channel stereo, one DTS/DTS-MA etc). The audio bit rate alone will make one significantly larger than the other.
That third one you’ve listed is X265 (HEVC) which is higher compression than X264 but requires more overhead for playback. Theoretically the picture quality should be identical but X265 allows higher compression and therefore smaller file size – but, once again, it comes back to bit rate.
With the Oscar season around the corner, a new slew of DVD Screeners (DVDScr) are being released on various torrent sites. But a lot of them have the infamous Cinavia protection. Here’s the list and how to bypass the error
Now Playstation 4 compatible!
Below is a list of newly released movies with the error and copyright protection system embedded in them. Most of them were handed out to Oscar members and were intended to be viewed at home. But every year the releases gets leaked out, some way or another.
While most of them aren’t Blu-Ray copies, they are high enough quality to be very popular. Especially since most of them are major blockbusters who just made the run, or are in theaters. Please note that we don’t provide any downloads to these movies as they are all copyrighted.

The Playstation 4 is quickly becoming the most popular out of all the next-generation consoles, beating Wii U and even Xbox One. Unfortunately, Sony decided to implement the Cinavia error messages on the Playstation 4 as well and it’s been no surprise it keeps blocking out movies in 2014 as well. While the new Xbox does include a BluRay player, it doesn’t have the Cinavia protection included, including streaming content.
Among the titles are
That Awkward Moment The Monuments Men About Last Night Pompeii Her Gambit How I Live Now Endless Love Tim’s Vermeer Nebraska Afflicted The Lunchbox Jodorowsky’s Dune The Raid 2: Berandal The Zero Theorem Heaven Is for Real The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Insidious Chapter 2 22 Jump Street The Art of Steal A Million Ways to Die in the West Neighbors
Many of these titles are exclusive to BluRay, but some DVD versions are effected as well, including A Million Ways to Die in the West.
As we’re months into 2013 the dreaded Cinavia error is back with a vengance, affecting movies such as The Hobbit, Les Misérables, Lincoln and other major studio releases. We’ve got the full and updated list below!
A movie like the Hobbit were already reported as having the error back in 2012, when it was out as a CAM. Others come as a surprise – Such as Killing Them Softly and The Man With the Iron Fists, the RZA directed Kung-fu movie.

We’ll be sure to update this list – Especially to see if coming attractions like G I Joe Retaliation, The Croods, The Host and Oz the Great and Powerful have the error or not.
Do you want to know if your BluRay player has the Cinavia DRM protection installed?
When Cinavia was new, it was announced that all the BluRay players released from 2012 was required to have the Cinavia protection installed, this isn’t necessarily true. There are players out there who either never had their firmware updated or simply doesn’t have the audio protection installed.
Do not adjust the playback volume. The content being played is protected by Cinavia™ and is not authorized for playback on this device. For more information, see http://www.cinavia.com. Message Code 3. – Does it look familiar? We’re here to help!

Recommended players, without Cinavia
Currently, one manufacturer has said that they won’t support Cinavia, ever. They are called Oppo, and while they aren’t going to support the watermark – Their players are expensive. See a list of Oppo players here. There’s also the possibility to get an old BluRay player (from 2010) and never update its firmware, a solution which is less tempting.
Solutions for all Blu-Ray players
Already bought a BluRay player, or are don’t you want to get a Oppo BluRay player? No problem, the Cinavia Movie Fix 2.0 currently supports all BluRay players including the PS3. You can download their solution here.
Hysteria, Pirates!, The Raid Redemption… There’s a bunch of Cinavia affected movies being added to our list
Here are the latest BluRay releases which carry the Cinavia watermark technology. If you’re looking for a solution to the following movies, please visit our solutions section. Note that if the BluRay you’ve bought isn’t distributed by Sony, Warner Bros, Fox or Universal the following list isn’t valid – It means that they are not affected by Cinavia.

But, it’s of course not up to us – We don’t want anyone to disable Cinavia, since it’s a DRM protection and it’s illegal to modify.
